Aston Martin’s 007 Edition Vantage and Superleggera are the Ultimate Bond Cars

Who doesn’t love a good Bond car? Ever since the series took off the in the late 60s, James Bond’s iconic vehicles have paved the way for gadgetry, luxury and style, three things British automotive maker Aston Martin does well. For the upcoming Bond film,No Time to Die, the 25th in the collection, Aston Martin has dropped two exclusive 007 special editions of the Vantage and DBS Superleggera.

Created in conjunction with EON Productions, the company behind the Bond films, the new releases are available now, but they aren’t the only Aston martins hitting the screen in 2020. WhenNo Time to Dieis finally released in November, four iconic vehicles will make the cut, with the iconic DB5, the Aston Martin V8, the DBS Superleggera, and the upcoming Aston Martin Valhalla to be featured. According to Aston Martin, the 007 edition Vantage and Superleggera have been designed by the firm’s bespoke division; Q by Aston Martin.

“Creating a 007 Edition is always an exciting challenge as we work to develop and style a car that embodies the legend of James Bond,” Aston Martin vice-president and chief creative officer Marek Reichman said. “It is an honour to apply carefully judged 007-inspired styling to our sports cars, which gives our customers the opportunity to own a unique piece of both cinematic and automotive history.” it’s history that continues in a new way with the Superleggera.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera 007 Edition

The latest high-performance beast in the Aston Martin lineup, the DBS Superleggera is just about the ultimate Bond car. Strictly limited to just 25 units worldwide, the new 007 Edition is made to the same specifications as the muscular DBS Superleggera set to star in No Time to Die. Copping a 5.2-litre V12 twin-turbocharge engine that produces 715hp and 900Nm of torque, the supercar offers a new level of high-octane adventure for Bond. in fact, it’s the greatest torque figure for any roadgoing Aston Martin ever produced.

In terms of styling, the 007 Edition Superleggera has the silhouette of a modern sports car through and through. The car cops a special Ceramic Grey exterior paint with the roof, mirror caps, splitter, diffuser and rear Aeroblade IITM featured in black tinted carbon fibre. Unique to the 007 Edition are the new Gloss Black diamond-turned Y-Spoke 21” wheels. Add that to the 007 fender badge, finished in chrome with a black enamel infill and Stainless Steel Silver 007 foil applied to the rear spoiler blade, and you’ve got a vehicle fit for Bond himself. The car is finished with a sill plaque that recognises it is one of just 25 DBS Superleggera 007 Editions.

If you’re keen to get your hands on the new 007 Edition Aston Martin Vantage or Superleggera, you might be in for a struggle. The ultra-limited cars will set you back a pretty penny, with the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition going for a cool £279,025 (AUD$508,552) and the Vantage 007 Edition for £161,000 (AUD$293,439). First deliveries will begin in Q1 2021.
