Ryan Reynolds Is Samuel L. Jackson's Caretaker in Upcoming Animated Series 'Futha Mucka'

Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson will team up once again, this time for an upcoming Quibi animated series called Futha Mucka. The pair, who recently worked together on Lionsgate‘s 2017 The Hitman’s Bodyguard, will star in the cartoon as themselves and will be executive produced by Jim and Brian Kehoe (Blockers).

Futha Mucka will be produced by Reynold’s Maximum Effort and Anonymous Content alongside Emmy-award winning independent animation studio Titmouse. The show will feature a parody of the actor’s lives, with Reynolds literally being in love with Jackson. According to a logline of the show on Deadline: “Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds love each other. More accurately, Ryan loves Sam. When a minor mishap causes Sam to become Ryan’s primary caregiver, things get weird.”

Jackson and Reynolds are slated to reprise their respective roles as hitman Darius Kincaid and bodyguard Michael Bryce in the upcoming Hitman’s Bodyguard sequel The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. The second installment in the series was recently delayed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the series is premiering on the currently struggling streaming service Quibi, there’s no official word yet when Futha Mucka will hit the streaming service. However, the unquestionable chemistry between the two stars formed during the film is likely to draw in viewers to the new series.
