Whataburger has unveiled its new food truck set to hit the road on a multi-state tour in 2021.
“We wanted a way to connect even more with our communities and to introduce Whataburger to new customers in a new and exciting way,” said Rich Scheffler, vice president of marketing and innovation for Whataburger. “And this truck is a showstopper.”
The 36-foot long Whataburger on wheels comes with 24 feet of cooking space powered by a 30,000-watt generator, according to a press release. "It has the same kind of burger-making power as a brick-and-mortar restaurant."
Celebrating 70 years of excellence, the Whataburger food truck is the latest announcement the company has made through its website.
The press release states the company worked on the food truck for years and didn't want to roll it out until it would turn heads. The truck has 30 laminated vinyl panels wrapped around it, "featuring burgers so realistic you can almost smell the sizzle."
With the help of Cruising Kitchens, a San Antonio-based company and the leading food truck and mobile business fabricator in the world, according to the press release, the truck became a reality.
"The partnership with Whataburger and the fabrication of the truck will be featured on an episode of "Built for Business," Cruising Kitchens’ MotorTrends TV show," per the press release.
Owner of Cruising Kitchens, Cameron Davies, said working on the project was a dream come true.
“We always say it’s the look of the truck that brings people in, it’s the taste of the food that brings them back,” Davies said. “This truck has the best of both."
The truck will hit the road in 2021 on its multi-state tour with stops in Whataburger's existing markets and cities, stated the press release.
